January 29, 2008 - At 1132 hours, units with the 2nd Battalion were alerted to the 4900 block of Hayes Street, NE for a house. T17 arrived on side Alpha of a one story house with heavy fire showing and a corrected address of 725 49th Place NE. E27 laid dual lines and began an aggressive attack on the fire. Shortly after making entry to the dwelling, the porch roof collapsed on top of 27 Engine's crew. One member received an ankle injury and was transported to a local hospital. No occupants were injured, although one resident was awoken by the heavy smoke and escaped. Get well soon Boogie.
